In 1999 an international design contest was held to re-design the TKTS booth at the heart of Times Square. Originally opened in 1973, Australian architects John Choi and Tai Ropiha visualized a radical new approach to highlight the new booth. With 27 ruby-red glass steps rising 16 feet and 1 inch, the red steps serve up some of the best views in Times Square.

Manhattan Land Surveying & Engineering provided a topographical survey to show existing conditions around the world famous TKTS Booth and the “Red Staircase” after renovations. Verification of curb lines, utility covers and sidewalk panels were included in the survey for submission to NY City Agencies.
